Associate Analog Design Engineer
Semtech- Full Time
- Junior (1 to 2 years)
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related scientific discipline, and have at least 5 years of experience in mixed signal IC testing and characterization. They must demonstrate strong experience working with analog/mixed-signal/digital circuits, significant experience with high-speed RF/microwave components and measurement techniques, and a good understanding of semiconductor device physics and measurement methods for device modeling. Furthermore, candidates should be familiar with time-domain simulation software such as Spice or EM simulation software, and have experience using a wide variety of measurement equipment including High-Speed Oscilloscopes, VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, Time Domain Reflectometry TDR, Semiconductor Analyzers, Function/Waveform Generators, and be proficient in coding languages such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, C, C++, and able to develop custom code for automated measurements and data analysis. US citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is also necessary, with Active SSBI being a plus.
The Senior Test Engineer will measure and characterize mixed signal circuits and semiconductor devices, collect and analyze measurement data manually or through automated test programs and scripts, and work with IC design engineers to debug circuits and develop test strategies. They will also be responsible for monitoring and interpreting changes in employment legislation across North America and developing HR policies to ensure compliance, conduct audits, deliver training, and advise management on HR-related risk mitigation strategies, and able to multitask among different projects while interacting with multiple project leads.
Develops cognitive systems for human-machine collaboration
HRL Laboratories focuses on research and development of advanced cognitive systems and human-machine collaboration, enhancing human cognitive abilities through artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The company develops solutions like the ICArUS project, which improves machine interpretation of information, and the MEMES project, aimed at enhancing human memory. HRL operates on a project-based model, serving clients in defense and high-tech sectors by delivering customized solutions and licensing technologies. The goal is to lead in creating cognitive systems that improve the interaction between humans and machines.
