Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with an advanced degree preferred. Significant experience in structural analysis and simulation is required, including proficiency in stress hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) software such as NASTRAN or ANSYS. Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills are necessary, as well as the ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

The Senior Structural Analyst will lead structural analysis and simulation efforts to optimize the performance and reliability of autonomous surface vessel structures. They will conduct hand calculations based on engineering principles and provide technical expertise in finite element modeling and analysis. Collaboration with hardware and product development teams is expected to optimize designs based on load cases. The analyst will conduct detailed stress, strain, and deformation analysis to identify potential failure modes, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Additionally, they will write and conduct testing and validation efforts, interpret results, and generate comprehensive technical reports to communicate findings to internal teams and stakeholders.
