Requirements

  • B.S. in a relevant engineering discipline with 10 years of experience integrating complex safety/mission critical systems, or M.S. with at least 7 years of experience integrating complex safety/mission critical systems
  • Knowledge of complex aircraft/aerospace systems and a practical grasp of the systems engineering discipline and associated processes (e.g., ARP 4754)
  • Applied understanding of assessing and communicating product security risks
  • Familiarity with RTCA aviation security standards such as DO-326A, DO-355A
  • Passion for product security and aviation in general, and cybersecurity specifically
  • Self-starting and eager to tackle complex technical challenges
  • Strong systems thinking mindset to navigate technical uncertainty, reduce it, and deliver incremental technical value consistent with technical maturity needs
  • Ability to lead development of a strong product security culture
  • Good communicator of technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrates humility, curiosity, and contributes to a positive environment for teammates

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses to identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities, threats, and controls/mitigations, and characterize and communicate risks across all layers of the integrated system and across the full lifecycle of the product
  • Drive development and enhancement of security requirements and security architectures to meet certification, business, and customer requirements
  • Support planning and execution of cybersecurity related component and system integration verification activities
  • Act as a product security engineering representative interfacing with systems engineering, design IPTs, and senior leadership across the enterprise
  • Participate in constructive interrogation and evolution of the product security engineering discipline to define new company and industry standards for autonomous aviation cybersecurity
  • Use existing industry cybersecurity frameworks, and develop new frameworks, in support of producing engineering artifacts to meet certification requirements
  • Work closely with cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), RAMS safety and maintenance engineering, engineering and manufacturing quality assurance, supplier management, safety management, and flight operations teams
  • Ensure that cybersecurity and product security in general is incorporated into all of Wisk’s product lines
