Responsibilities
- Next-generation risk assessment: Utilize big data, AI, and curiosity to move beyond binary underwriting and revise risk selection.
- Modernized underwriting: Employ cutting-edge technology to accurately and efficiently assess risk, price policies, and offer bespoke coverage/terms to profitably grow and manage a book of business.
- Mentorship and Growth: Honeycomb offers an environment for personal and career development through mentorship, engaging project assignments, personalized training, and opportunities for internal and external exposure to expand your network and influence.
- Market Shaping: Play a pivotal role in establishing and shaping our presence in the light-non-admitted market.
- Quoting and Releasing Business: Quote and release new light non-admitted business referred from underwriting algorithms or seeking changes that exceed user authority thresholds.
- Policy Change Approval: Analyze and approve requested policy changes, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain familiarity and compliance with E&S state insurance regulations and ISO rules for all states within your assigned underwriting territory.
- Communication: Maintain open, transparent, and supportive communications with team members and interdivisional partners.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor E&S portfolio composition through reports, audits, and inspections.
- Marketing Support: Support marketing functions and efforts to build and promote Honeycomb.
- Special Projects: Complete special projects and assignments as needed.
- Travel: Some travel may be required (<10%).
Requirements
- 5+ years of Habitational underwriting/insurance experience.
- Strong knowledge of habitational insurance products, coverages, and underwriting principles.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience preferred.
- Retail agency relationship experience preferred.

Benefits
- Base Salary: $100,000 - $125,000
