Candidates should have at least 6 years of relevant work experience in software engineering or an equivalent technical role. Experience with geospatial software development and concepts, AWS or GCP, and proficiency in Python are required. Excellent knowledge of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, and testing methodologies, is also necessary. Strong customer engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences are essential, along with experience in fast, iterative development cycles and adapting to shifting requirements. The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and experience with JavaScript, Java, Go, or C# are considered advantageous.
The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to the full development lifecycle, from discovery and decomposition to designing, building, and deploying bespoke solutions for customer challenges. Responsibilities include designing and developing robust, full-stack software, including front-end, back-end, data integration, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS), and CI/CD pipelines. The role involves working directly with customers to understand their operational challenges and translate them into clear technical requirements. Engineers will leverage AI tooling and an AI-first mindset for rapid iteration and value delivery, mentor other engineers, contribute to code reviews, foster a collaborative team environment, identify reusable patterns for platform development, and deliver critical commitments on time.
