Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience as an engineer with a proven history of working across the stack, primarily backend, and building products at scale
  • Extensive experience with web technologies and one or more common web frameworks
  • Strong understanding of accessibility and security compliance
  • Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Enjoy collaborating with engineering and product leaders on complex multi-team projects

Responsibilities

  • Work in backend space (50%) while supporting team members delivering full stack initiatives
  • Plan complex multi-team projects with stakeholders and guide execution and delivery (20%)
  • Own the team’s technical, execution, goal setting, and prioritization practices (20%)
  • Mentor software engineers across the organization (5%)
  • Go beyond the team to impact the domain’s practices (5%)
  • Gain a deep understanding of what Alma providers do, how they operate, and where their pain points are
  • Design, develop, and implement maintainable and scalable product features using front and back end web technologies (Python, Django, MySQL, React, Typescript)
  • Develop both provider-facing and internal-facing features around scheduling, eligibility, and billing
  • Collaborate with Alma managers, PMs, and designers to conceptualize and build solutions for practical problems facing Alma providers
  • Ensure applications and services meet Alma's standards for software including performance, scalability, and security
