Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience working on and maintaining large-scale frontend monorepos and developing underlying tooling (e.g., Nx/Rush, pnpm, vite, storybook, eslint)
  • Previous experience on a dedicated platform or infrastructure team at a company with an engineering organization of 100+ engineers
  • Deep knowledge of React with a history of advanced contributions to a React-based ecosystem and familiarity with modern React development paradigms
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving platform-level improvements affecting all applications, such as significant page performance gains, build time reduction, or dependency upgrade initiatives
  • Strong command of frontend build and delivery systems, including optimizing bundlers (Webpack/Rspack) and setting up/maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI)
  • 7+ years of professional experience recommended in relevant frontend platform engineering

Responsibilities

  • Design, evolve, and maintain the frontend monorepo, ensuring scalable foundations for all Carta applications
  • Drive platform-level improvements and engineering upgrades, including page performance, dependency management, and major React version migrations efforts that positively impact the whole company
  • Steer the AI-assisted development strategy for frontend applications, taking into account best practices
  • Develop and optimize build tooling (e.g., Rspack, Playwright), empowering frontend teams to deliver faster, more reliable releases
  • Foster best practices in frontend infrastructure, collaborating with engineers across Carta to ensure high-quality, reusable platform solutions
