Requirements

Passionate and skilled software engineer with exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Analytical with high attention to detail and self-motivated
British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship (Security Clearance requirement)
Able to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS)
Strong proficiency in software programming in C++
Proven record in delivering software products on complex systems
Experience and knowledge of all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle, especially software requirements and design
Experience of building internal and external stakeholder relationships
Ability to support and develop more junior engineers
Collaborative and open approach to problem solving with strong communication skills
Deep and broad range of experience in software engineering from requirements to certification
Experience taking the lead in technical implementation and delivery of complex solutions

Responsibilities

Developing the future laser defence capability for the Royal Navy as part of the Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Cyber team
Supporting and mentoring other engineers in the team
Ensuring personal development and healthy work/life balance for the team
