Candidates should possess a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field. They must have at least 6 years of industry experience in software development, with strong expertise in large stateful distributed systems and data processing. Proficiency in Kubernetes and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts is required, along with a willingness to try new approaches and technologies. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
The Senior Software Engineer will own and lead engineering projects in data acquisition, including web crawling and data ingestion. They will collaborate with other sub-teams to ensure smooth data flow and system operability, and work closely with the legal team on compliance and data privacy matters. The role involves developing and deploying highly scalable distributed systems, architecting algorithms for data indexing and search capabilities, and building and maintaining backend services for data storage. Additionally, they will deploy solutions in a Kubernetes Infrastructure-as-Code environment and conduct experiments to analyze system performance.
