Senior Rust Engineer (Remote North America)

Position Overview

Helius is a leading developer platform on the Solana blockchain, dedicated to inspiring and accelerating the creation of crypto-powered software. Customers like Coinbase, Jupiter, and Phantom use Helius to power their applications on Solana. We’ve raised over $34m from Haun Ventures, Founders Fund, Foundation Capital, 6th Man Ventures, Reciprocal Ventures, Chapter One and angel investors including Solana co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal, and Balaji Srinivasan. Our team members have previously built mission-critical, scalable infrastructure at AWS, Coinbase, Stripe, Google, Digital Ocean, and more.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Rust: Strong understanding and experience with the Rust programming language.
• Experience: 5 years of experience with Rust or a similar language (C++, Golang, Java, etc.).
• System Building: 5 years of experience building and maintaining high-scale production systems.
• Distributed Systems: Strong proficiency with distributed systems, databases, and high-performance applications.
• Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, execute at speed, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Bonus: Startup and/or web3 experience is a plus.
• Relevant Experience: Experience relevant to Helius is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable backend infrastructure to support our growing suite of developer tools and services.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components with existing systems.
• Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance of our services to handle increasing traffic and load.
• Monitoring & Alerting: Develop monitoring and alerting systems to maintain high levels of system availability and performance.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve system architecture, security, and best practices to stay up-to-date with industry standards.
• Mentorship: Mentor and support other team members in understanding and implementing complex technical concepts.
