Candidates should possess a Master's degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field such as economics, statistics, epidemiology, or a related discipline, and demonstrate a strong understanding of research methodologies and statistical analysis. Applicants should have at least five years of experience conducting rigorous research and analysis, preferably in global health, development, or a related area, and exhibit the ability to synthesize complex information from diverse sources.
As a Senior Researcher, you will create and lead ambitious research agendas, answer complex questions related to global health and poverty alleviation, and inform high-impact grantmaking decisions through rigorous evidence review, cost-effectiveness modeling, and thoughtful judgment. You will execute research agendas by combining thorough review of empirical evidence, cost-effectiveness modeling, discussions with subject matter experts, and your own judgment, addressing questions such as program impacts and opportunity costs. Furthermore, you will communicate externally about GiveWell’s work and mentor other team members, shaping a research agenda that brings rigor and creativity to GiveWell’s work.
