Requirements

  • 8 to less than 12 years of experience or with an advanced degree with 7+ years of experience
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in reliability engineering, failure analysis, or a related field, preferably in medical devices or robotics
  • Demonstrated expertise in system and component-level failure analysis, including fault isolation and root cause analysis
  • Hands-on experience with electrical/mechanical analysis tools and instruments
  • Proficiency in report writing and documentation
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and physics of failure
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field (master’s or PhD preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead system-level and component-level failure analysis investigations for the HUGO RAS platform
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical circuits and mechanical assemblies to isolate faults and identify root causes
  • Disassemble hardware, interpret schematics, and utilize system-generated logs for root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with external failure analysis labs and utilize advanced tools such as CT, X-Ray, SEM, and Mass Spec for material and component analysis
  • Conduct destructive physical analysis (DPA) to evaluate failures and propose design or process improvements
  • Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including detailed fault analysis reports with proposed mitigations
  • Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions and enhance product reliability
  • Apply statistical analysis techniques and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to support reliability assessments
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including EMC, IEC 60601, and risk management protocols
  • Drive reliability engineering best practices, including Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM) principles
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of reliability engineering processes and tools
