Requirements

Strong technical aptitude with a deep understanding of the finite element method and its application using commercially available software packages
Strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles in mechanics and/or CFD and FSI
Experience (implied in the "The Successful candidate will have:" section, with specifics cut off but including relevant technical expertise)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional team to execute a modeling and simulation strategy for design optimization and evaluating reliability of Structural Heart and Aortic devices
Develop predictive engineering tools, techniques, and approaches to support the product development process
Execute modeling & simulation studies to assess stress/strain magnitudes and distributions in implant components
Virtual design and prototyping of new transcatheter heart valves, using expertise in non-linear finite element software tools to incorporate large deformation, complex multibody contact, dynamic impact, modal analysis, and multiaxial cyclic fatigue failure modes
Interpretation of complex in-vivo loading modes derived from patient imaging and mathematical conversion to Finite Element Analysis boundary conditions
Research into realistic device-anatomy interaction simulations including reconstruction of patient anatomies into meshed FEA models
Application of CFD or FSI software tools to predict flow conditions in the vicinity of implanted bioprosthetic heart valves
