Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Liberal Arts, Business, or a related discipline
Generally, 5+ years of related experience
Casualty Experience: Required
Excess Liability Experience: Preferred
Beginning coursework toward certification in a relevant area is preferred

Responsibilities

Responsible for evaluating and deciding on risks to accept or reject
Prices business in accordance with company guidelines
Responsible for retention, growth, and profitability of business
Analyzes coverage and limit requests and decides on terms to offer
Assesses risk quality and compliance within company guidelines and initiates loss prevention actions
Orders and screens miscellaneous reports (Motor Vehicle reports, loss history reports, credit checks, etc.)
Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers
Visits agents, brokers, and producers to retain accounts, build relationships, and develop new opportunities
Interprets, explains, and markets products and services
Applies underwriting rules, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations
Performs other duties as assigned
