Requirements

A Ph.D. in biological engineering, immunology, pharmaceutical or life sciences, or equivalent, with 2-5 years of experience, or an M.S. with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a B.S. with at least 10 years of relevant experience is required. Proven experience with bioprocess development for cell therapy, including T/NK/iPSC cell biology, is necessary. Experience in Design of Experiments, statistical analysis, and analytical techniques is also required. Strong biological background and experience with immune cell isolation, engineering, and culture are essential. Excellent organizational, attention to detail, verbal, and written communication skills are needed, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

The Senior Product Applications Scientist will collaborate with partners to optimize automated manufacturing solutions for cell therapy development. Responsibilities include developing new processes and procedures for cell therapy, such as scale-up/scale-out for various stages of cell processing using automation. The role involves integrating platforms and reagents into automated solutions, authoring and implementing protocols and SOPs, and conducting day-to-day laboratory operations and maintenance. Additionally, the scientist will host site visitors, conduct product demonstrations, and train collaborators on Thermo Fisher Scientific’s solutions, while also supporting process transfer to customers and maintaining those relationships.
