Candidates should have proven experience as a Privacy Specialist, Data Protection Officer, or similar role, with a strong understanding of GDPR and mature privacy programs, typically 3-5 years. Fluent English is required, and knowledge of French, German, or Portuguese is advantageous. Recognized privacy or AI governance certifications are a plus, as is experience implementing ISO frameworks like ISO 27001 or ISO 42001. A Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Technology, or a related field is desirable. In-depth knowledge of data protection laws, regulations, and best practices, along with familiarity with AI regulations or a willingness to upskill quickly, is necessary. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
The Senior Privacy Specialist will inform, advise on, and monitor compliance with existing and developing privacy and AI regulations, particularly GDPR and the EU AI Act. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines. The specialist will provide expert advice on data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and privacy by design principles. Responsibilities include overseeing the development and implementation of AI systems to ensure compliance with the EU AI Act, and reviewing/negotiating contractual terms related to privacy and AI, such as DPAs or AI addendums. The role also supports the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in performing relevant tasks and requires staying updated on data protection and AI laws to advise the organization on necessary adjustments.
