Requirements

  • BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of at least one of the following video standards: HDMI, SDI, DP
  • Video processing/streaming experience, working with camera sensors, codecs and streaming protocols
  • Extensive experience working with Linux and RTOS device drivers
  • Expert C/C++ and shell scripting knowledge
  • Experience in system bring-up and hardware integration
  • Fundamental knowledge of Linux diagnostic/benchmarking tools
  • Experience with software systems engineering and design principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible - ability to independently solve problems but comfortable asking for help
  • Comfortable with complexity – ability to think through consequences of changes in highly interconnected ecosystems over varied use environments
  • Experience with embedded graphics technologies and strong understanding of Xilinx toolchain and FPGA development (highly desirable)
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA computing platforms and microcontroller development (highly desirable)
  • Experience in automated testing (preferred)
  • Hands-on knowledge of regulatory standards such as FDA requirements and ISO/IEC guidelines, including ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and ISO 14971 (preferred)
  • Background in software development for medical devices or other safety-critical applications (strong asset)

Responsibilities

  • Work within highly technically diverse multidisciplinary teams (application software, embedded, FPGA, computer vision, cloud platform, etc.)
  • Support the development and productization of custom computing devices, medical devices, and other devices for hospital operating rooms
  • Drive collaboration with hardware team to build and maintain compatible kernels/drivers for hardware platforms
  • Architect, develop, test, and debug system services and hardware-dependent software applications
  • Coordinate and conduct code reviews for embedded software
  • Contribute to software infrastructure to ensure seamless software deployments
  • Participate in relevant security and regulatory compliance processes
  • Develop robust and secure-by-design software fit for a medical-grade system
  • Perform formal risk analysis activities, develop software mitigations, run verification tests, and participate in design transfer to manufacturing activities
  • Other duties may be assigned
