Requirements

  • Minimum Level 8 bachelor’s degree required in Engineering/Science or related discipline with 4+ years’ experience OR Master’s with 2 years
  • Experience in biomedical materials, material processing, and medical device packaging design, with a proven track record in innovative package development and manufacturing support
  • Strong understanding of sterile barrier systems, verification/validation, and regulatory/quality system requirements for medical device packaging
  • Demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to ethics, compliance, and high-quality decision-making
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to work effectively across functions and simplify complex technical information
  • Accountable, driven, and capable of making confident decisions in challenging or fast-paced situations

Responsibilities

  • Developing sterile packaging components and assemblies for cardiovascular medical devices, ensuring robust, compliant, and sustainable designs that support NPI and commercialization
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on cross-functional project teams, providing guidance on packaging design, materials, manufacturing processes, and risk management
  • Supporting verification, validation, and implementation of packaging systems through test method development, execution of protocols, and data-driven qualification
  • Collaborating with Packaging and Labelling peers across Medtronic to share best practices and implement innovative technologies and materials
  • Providing technical support for manufacturing initiatives, addressing packaging-related issues, optimizing processes, and supporting technology transfers
  • Investigating issues, driving corrective and preventive actions, and generating high-quality technical documentation in accordance with regulatory and quality system requirements
  • Leading and influencing cross-functional teams using strong project management skills while mentoring and supporting the development of junior engineers
