Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Proficiency in creating engineering drawings and models using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
  • Live within commuting distance to Portage, Michigan office and be in the office 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday)
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%

  • Experience in the medical device industry or regulated environments
  • Familiarity with design controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance
  • Understanding of clinical procedures and product use
  • Experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and using Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and verify components and modules for medical devices under minimal supervision
  • Translate design inputs into engineering specifications and subsystem-level designs
  • Prototype and analyze design solutions to validate concepts and performance
  • Identify and resolve complex technical challenges using data-driven analysis, resulting in improved processes and outcomes
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files, in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Ensure alignment with quality management systems and applicable regulations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Marketing teams to ensure project success
  • Prioritize tasks and manage workload independently to meet project milestones
