Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 8 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)
  • At least 6 years of experience with AWS
  • At least 4 years of people management experience
  • Deep expertise in test automation strategies, modern tooling, and technical leadership
  • Deep understanding of test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, BrowserStack), scripting languages (Python, Java), and cloud-native environments
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, software development life cycle (SDLC), and industry best practices for quality assurance
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, set goals, conduct reviews, and manage resources effectively
  • Experience in developing and implementing test strategies, roadmaps, and operational excellence plans
  • Preferred: 7+ years of experience with AWS
  • Preferred: 4+ years of functional testing and non-functional testing experience
  • Preferred: 4+ years of experience using Serenity, Playwright, Cypress, Squish or Jmeter
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams of test engineers and automation specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement for the Global Payment Network line of business
  • Provide training to Software Development Engineers, QA and architect resources on quality strategies, standards, tools, and processes
  • Work closely with quality assurance teams and functions to help grow and improve test processes and skill sets for the Global Payment Network line of business
  • Drive innovation and efficiency by identifying and implementing new testing processes, methodologies, and standards aligned to Capital One for the Global Payment Network line of business
  • Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
  • Continuously improve software engineering practices
  • Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies
  • Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience and scalability of solutions
  • Stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization and diversity
  • Utilize scripting languages like Python, SQL, Ruby and Groovy, Container Orchestration services including Docker and ECS, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services
  • Develop and refine test automation strategies, and oversee the selection, implementation, and ongoing management of test automation tools and frameworks
  • Provide technical guidance on modern test tooling, automation techniques, and best practices
  • Work closely with project managers, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to integrate test tooling into the broader development process
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with testing processes and tool adoption, ensuring smooth project execution
