Requirements

  • BS in Finance, Economics, or Accounting; CPA strongly preferred
  • Strong financial accounting experience directing application of accounting policies, controls & compliance support, close activities, and third-party reporting
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in corporate accounting, corporate finance, and/or FP&A
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new industries and concepts. Prior relevant experience in music or entertainment a plus
  • Experience with financial applications and systems preferred such as SAP, HFM, MicroStrategy, etc
  • Proficiency with MS Office products including advanced skills in Excel
  • Great organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize based on evolving workload
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including summarizing complex analyses to executives and other departments
  • Personable with good teamworking skills
  • Self-starter with ability to think critically and make problem solving decisions

Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate close activities and related disclosure requirements
  • Working closely with central accounting team, direct appropriate accounting activities managed by label (revenue recognition, accruals, journal coding, etc.)
  • Review 3rd party JV statements and manage 3rd party queries on issued statements
  • Prepare 3rd party merchandise/ad hoc participation statements
  • Develop and implement key controls and ensure label adherence to corporate control and compliance initiatives
  • Facilitate Inter-Company rebill process working with the business and territories to validate coding and manage approvals for clearing
  • Develop accounting workflow, best practices, and project set up for new business initiatives, research appropriate accounting treatment for different lines of business
  • Manage accounting support for new business initiatives as needed (approvals, journal entries, corporate reporting)
  • Support business unit T&E approvals/reviews, travel approvals, and product approvals
  • Support product mapping and other product setup research to ensure appropriate internal and external reporting
