Requirements

  • Strategic leadership skills to develop levers and prioritize based on impact, investment, cost savings, and other dimensions, with focus on high emissions categories (beef, dairy, proteins, transportation)
  • Ability to define and operationalize food system resilience as anticipating, withstanding, and adapting to disruptions across the value chain, including supply continuity, regenerative agriculture, packaging/waste mitigation, and supplier/customer partnerships
  • Experience working cross-functionally across all organizational levels to identify sustainability risks and opportunities
  • Strong relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders (suppliers, NGOs, industry groups/coalitions, peers) to drive initiatives and promote systems thinking
  • Expertise in leading comprehensive commodity risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and use of digital tools/data platforms for supply chain shifts (climate change, geopolitics, resource constraints)
  • Knowledge of Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions, sustainability strategies, carbon reduction, energy efficiency, and resource stewardship aligned with global standards
  • Capability to enable governance for strategic investments in decarbonization and resilience

Responsibilities

  • Lead supply chain risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for commodity continuity and resilience
  • Assess, pilot, and implement digital tools and data platforms to anticipate supply chain shifts
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership and field teams for business continuity
  • Oversee development, implementation, and monitoring of Scopes 1 and 2 sustainability strategies
  • Engage operations and sourcing teams to implement decarbonization initiatives and achieve GHG goals
  • Provide regular reporting on decarbonization progress against company goals
  • Develop and scale strategies for customer resilience, including waste reduction, valorization, sustainability scoring, digital menu optimization, and kitchen efficiency tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to design and scale solutions for value chain transformation and sustainable customer/community outcomes
