Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in dynamics, particularly in structural or fluid dynamics, is required, with a focus on vehicle response to external forces. Strong experience with dynamic simulation and load analysis using industry-standard tools is essential, along with proficiency in software tools like MATLAB, Python, and commercial finite element modeling tools such as NASTRAN. Hands-on experience with dynamic analysis and hardware testing, as well as knowledge of naval architecture, is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Senior Loads & Dynamics Engineer will analyze and resolve dynamic load-related problems affecting autonomous surface vessels by utilizing analysis, simulation, and field data. They will develop finite element models and lumped element models to simulate vessel response under various load conditions. The role includes performing dynamic testing from start to finish, owning system-level dynamic analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine vehicle design for load-bearing capability. Additionally, the engineer will conduct advanced simulations to predict vessel behavior in complex environments and write software to support dynamic modeling and analysis.
