Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in product development technical roles within manufacturing or industrial support
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent years of experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical
  • Experience with Electrical Standards and codes (NEC, UL, FCC)
  • Experience with reliability testing
  • Experience with Electrical Instrumentation (Oscilloscope, DVM, Power analyzers, Spectrum analyzers)
  • Experience with managing or leading projects associated with development of complex electrical or control systems
  • Professional Engineer License (Preferred)
  • Understanding of International, specifically Canadian, electrical codes (Preferred)
  • Experience with robotics (Preferred)
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure unwavering commitment to safety as the first priority in system development
  • Ensure robust engineering processes are in place and adhered to, including internal/external Electrical Codes, NEC, regulations, Hazops, DOE’s, SOP’s
  • Design electrical panels using CAD software to create schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs
  • Fabricate proof of concepts, prototypes, and production-level systems
  • Create test plans to ensure the highest quality and safety for electrical panels and systems
  • Document systems (parts, assemblies, BOMs) adhering to best practices for revision control
  • Perform maintenance and upgrades for systems installed in the field and document revision changes
  • Create project plans, designs of experiments (DOE), and revision-controlled documentation
  • Participate in the AT&S established Performance Management Process (PMP)
  • Document results and findings into reports, emails, databases in an organized and accurate manner
  • Execute project plans on-time and within budget in accordance with the AT&S PDP
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with functional leaders across Airgas and Air Liquide
  • Evaluate and protect Intellectual Property (IP), working with legal and engineering teams to write/submit patentable inventions
  • Manage internal/external research collaborations
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory Teams to ensure compliance with local and global regulatory agencies (FCC, UL, Intertek)
  • Develop and maintain business-critical relationships including consultants and vendors
  • Business travel up to 10%
