Requirements

  • Broad management knowledge and experience to lead project teams in one department
  • Prior experience supporting teams in the medical technology, medical devices, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and familiarity with HR practices in a regulated environment (FDA, ISO, or equivalent)
  • Proven success influencing and partnering with senior leaders in a complex, global, and highly technical organization
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to implement compensation, benefits, learning, and talent development programs tailored to the medtech workforce
  • Act as a change champion for organizational initiatives, including culture-building, engagement, and transformation projects
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion to ensure an inclusive, high-performance environment
  • Experience in organizational design, talent management, leadership development, and change management
  • Proficient English both spoken and written
  • 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3–5 years in a senior HRBP or equivalent role
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align HR strategy with business needs in a science- and technology driven environment
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and influencing skills with the ability to partner effectively at all levels
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to use analytics to inform decision-making
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and ethical judgment
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and balance strategic priorities with hands-on problem-solving
  • Bachelor Degree preferable in HRM, Org Dev, or Business Management

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements and executes human resources strategies for business unit and functional groups
  • Partners with business operations to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives and proactively resolves HR and business issues
  • Provides solutions through organizational effectiveness and employee life cycle management
  • Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management
  • Responsible for and/or serves as a HR liaison in key projects
  • Reports to HR leader Japan & ANZ enabling talent strategies across Japan
  • Critical role in Japan HR leadership team partnering with CoE leads and providing coaching/mentoring to wider Japan HR community
  • Provides HR strategic partnership to senior leaders across commercial business in Japan
