Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building complex applications using a modern language (from Java to Typescript)
  • Track record of shaping and shipping valuable features
  • Track record of driving high-leverage improvements to infrastructure and process
  • Judgment to take on technical debt and risk where appropriate
  • Strong communication skills, especially written (engineering team is remote-first, with important work in chats and documents)
  • Full-time position based out of NYC (onsite preference at NYC HQ, reports to Head of Engineering)
  • Nice-to-have: Previous startup experience
  • Nice-to-have: Data engineering or ML experience (or deep interest)
  • Nice-to-have: DevOps or platform/infrastructure experience (or deep interest)

Responsibilities

  • Own substantial user-impacting projects from design to build to roll out
  • Participate in code and system design reviews
  • Contribute improvements to our internal processes and dev tools
  • Understand our users and their needs, and contribute to product discovery and prioritization with our leadership, product management, and design teams
  • Help grow the team via hiring and mentoring activities
