Requirements

  • Relevant qualification such as NEBOSH Certificate, EHS accreditation, or degree in Engineering, Science, or EHS
  • Strong working knowledge of EHS and Risk Management legislation and principles, with experience in local/regional EHS regulatory compliance, and developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous EHS and Prevention Advisor experience
  • Fluency in both Dutch and English
  • At least 2 years’ experience delivering trainings and presentations, working on projects, or developing project management skills
  • Highly computer literate with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Extremely organized, self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative, prioritize workload effectively, adapt to changing environments, and demonstrate an outgoing, friendly, 'Can Do' attitude
  • Health & Safety experience within the medical device industry (advantageous)

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for development, implementation, and continuous improvement of key EHS risk programs (e.g., driver safety, ionizing radiation, biohazards, emergency preparedness, employee preventive medical examinations, ergonomics), ensuring compliance with regulations, Medtronic EHS Standards, and alignment with EMEA/Corporate strategies
  • Implement targeted health, safety, and environmental risk management program to identify, assess, and control risks, minimize environmental impacts, and ensure compliance with local regulations
  • Fulfil role of Prevention Advisor for one or more sites in Netherlands Commercial organization, including maintenance of preventive medical examinations program for all Netherlands sites
  • Partner with Medtronic sub-regions, business units, and functions to provide EHS technical expertise and promote positive EHS culture
  • Collaborate with external agencies (e.g., Fire Services, Health and Safety Authorities, Environmental Agencies) and internal stakeholders to integrate EHS into processes and business decisions
  • Facilitate EHS engagement and communication via EHS committee meetings, active involvement programs, management reporting, newsletters, and other forums
  • Execute compliance-based tasks such as incident investigations, root cause analyses, EHS audits, and implementing remedial actions within agreed SLAs
  • Perform workplace and specific risk assessments (e.g., ionising radiation, ergonomics, manual handling, driver safety, fire protection, PPE, biological agents, chemical safety) for onsite and field-based operations
  • Rotate between Heerlen, Maastricht, and Geleen locations to deliver EHS support to diverse workforce, including office, remote, field, sales, and service/repair teams in hospital environments
