Requirements

Candidates must have 13+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years focused on ML/AI systems, and 5+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers. A proven track record of shipping ML products at scale in production environments and experience with the full ML lifecycle are required. Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning, and statistical methods, proficiency in ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX, and programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java are essential. Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Spark or Ray, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and MLOps tools is necessary. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels and experience driving technical strategy are also required.

Responsibilities

The Senior Engineering Manager will define and execute the technical strategy for AI/ML initiatives, oversee the design and architecture of scalable ML systems, and drive decisions on technology stack and infrastructure. They will lead, mentor, and grow a team of 15+ AI engineers, data scientists, and software engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. This role involves partnering with Product Management to define the AI product roadmap, translating business objectives into technical initiatives, and managing multiple concurrent AI/ML projects from conception to deployment. The manager will also establish best practices for ML model development, testing, and deployment, implement MLOps practices, and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and AI governance policies.
