Requirements

5–8 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in telecom billing systems
Hands-on experience with OSS/BSS stacks (Amdocs, CSG, NetCracker, Ericsson BSCS, Oracle BRM, or equivalent)
Strong understanding of CDR/EDR processing, mediation, rating, and charging systems
Solid programming skills in Java, C++, Go, or Python for backend systems
Experience with relational databases (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL) and data modeling for billing
Familiarity with microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards relevant to telecom billing

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain billing solutions for prepaid, postpaid, and hybrid telecom products
Implement and optimize rating and charging logic (voice, SMS, data, roaming, value-added services)
Work with mediation systems to ensure accurate collection and processing of Call Detail Records (CDRs) and Event Detail Records (EDRs)
Support real-time charging systems (OCS/CCS) and integrations with CRM and provisioning systems
Ensure billing accuracy, reconciliation, and prevention of revenue leakage
Collaborate with finance and audit teams for regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., TRAI, FCC, GDPR)
Implement controls for taxation, roaming settlements, and interconnect billing
Integrate billing platforms with ERP, CRM, and payment gateways
Optimize performance for large-scale, high-volume transaction environments
Build APIs and services to support product launches and customer self-service portals
Implement monitoring and automation for billing workflows and financial reporting
Work closely with product and business teams to support new pricing models, bundles, and promotions
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in telecom billing engineering
Participate in architectural discussions and roadmap planning for billing modernization
