Requirements

  • 5–8 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in telecom billing systems
  • Hands-on experience with OSS/BSS stacks (Amdocs, CSG, NetCracker, Ericsson BSCS, Oracle BRM, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of CDR/EDR processing, mediation, rating, and charging systems
  • Solid programming skills in Java, C++, Go, or Python for backend systems
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL) and data modeling for billing
  • Familiarity with microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards relevant to telecom billing

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain billing solutions for prepaid, postpaid, and hybrid telecom products
  • Implement and optimize rating and charging logic (voice, SMS, data, roaming, value-added services)
  • Work with mediation systems to ensure accurate collection and processing of Call Detail Records (CDRs) and Event Detail Records (EDRs)
  • Support real-time charging systems (OCS/CCS) and integrations with CRM and provisioning systems
  • Ensure billing accuracy, reconciliation, and prevention of revenue leakage
  • Collaborate with finance and audit teams for regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., TRAI, FCC, GDPR)
  • Implement controls for taxation, roaming settlements, and interconnect billing
  • Integrate billing platforms with ERP, CRM, and payment gateways
  • Optimize performance for large-scale, high-volume transaction environments
  • Build APIs and services to support product launches and customer self-service portals
  • Implement monitoring and automation for billing workflows and financial reporting
  • Work closely with product and business teams to support new pricing models, bundles, and promotions
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in telecom billing engineering
  • Participate in architectural discussions and roadmap planning for billing modernization
