Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred; Master’s considered)
  • 12+ years in data science/AI with 5+ years in leadership roles in diagnostics, medtech, biopharma, or healthcare
  • Deep understanding of clinical development for diagnostics (analytical/clinical validation, study design, performance endpoints) and how AI augments these workflows
  • Hands-on expertise with Python/R and core libraries
  • Strong command of statistical modeling, large language models, survival/longitudinal analyses, and data visualization
  • Proven experience with RWE/RWD (EHR, claims, registries, labs/device telemetry) to inform clinical, regulatory, and market access decisions

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists and AI engineers, foster a culture of innovation, rigor, and continuous learning
  • Run a portfolio of cross-functional projects with clear stage gates, use cases, and risk management; manage diagnostic OpCo and academic partner relationships
  • Communicate impact to executive, clinical, and technical audiences through clear narratives, publications/white papers, and forums with department leaders
  • Set direction and standards for Data & AI across the Diagnostics Platform; integrate Enterprise and cross-OpCo community of practice
  • Continuously scan the horizon for emerging methods/technologies (foundation models, multimodal AI, synthetic data, privacy-enhancing tech) and integrate when beneficial
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across R&D, regulatory, commercial, and academic partners to translate insights into action
