Senior DevSecOps Engineer

Position Overview

The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will be embedded within a multidisciplinary implementation team responsible for creating and deploying solutions under tight timeframes. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned DevSecOps or Site Reliability Engineer, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn. This role involves gaining comprehensive expertise across all team functions to foster seamless integration and collaboration. As a key team member, the Senior DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for tactical delivery, meticulous resource management against timelines, and skillful tasking of team members to ensure the successful achievement of project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the platform engineering team.
  • Contribute to the architecture development and implementation of resilient, scalable, reliable, and secure platforms.
  • Expand and enhance DevSecOps capabilities to improve the development lifecycle.
  • Work on improving both developer and user efficiency through automation and optimized processes.

Requirements

  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years of experience with microservices orchestration and cloud platforms.
    • 3-5 years of experience with cybersecurity, including hardening systems and security/information assurance compliance regimes.
    • 5-7 years of experience in Linux system administration and networking fundamentals.
    • 5-7 years of experience working with CI/CD techniques using version control, DevOps technology, and automated configuration management.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Cri-O, or Containerd.
    • Experience with major programming or scripting languages.
    • Familiarity with service mesh technologies like Istio, Linkerd, or Consul.
    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Helm, or Kustomize.
    • Experience with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Location:

    • Must be located in one of the following: Austin, Grand Rapids, San Antonio, San Diego, Raleigh, Washington DC.
  • Clearance:

    • Top Secret level clearance required.
  • Travel:

    • Willing to travel up to 30%.
  • Compensation:

    • Expected base salary of $150,000 - $180,000.
