Requirements

Expertise in PostgreSQL database management and technical support
Ability to coordinate, analyze, design, implement, and administer IT solutions, including database server configuration and maintenance
Experience analyzing client infrastructure and processes to recommend best practices for uptime and recoverability
Proficiency in administering backup procedures, disaster recovery plans, proactive monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting
Skills in overseeing data integrity, recovery processes including clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, and restoration of corrupted databases
Capability to develop and review action plans for maintenance, deployment, upgrades, and client documentation
Thorough understanding of client information, warnings, handoffs, and briefing notes
Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining complex data architectures (e.g., normalized/dimensional models, DDL generation, data transformation, migration using scripts/stored procedures)
Ability to lead problem management, assess incidents for patterns, design procedures for requests/changes, and develop/review action plans/documentation
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (typically one weekend per month)
Strong client engagement skills, including making/managing/meeting commitments, preparing status/incident reports, responding to inquiries, and aligning with client procedures (e.g., change control, allotments)

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive support for database and application infrastructure to diverse clients
Deliver consulting services and implement improvements/optimizations for managed services customers
Design and implement database server configurations and ongoing maintenance
Analyze infrastructure and recommend best practices to enhance operations, ensuring maximum uptime and recoverability
Administer backup procedures and disaster recovery plans, including monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting
Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, and restoration of corrupted databases
Develop and review action plans for maintenance, deployment, upgrades, and ensure completion of client documentation
Maintain understanding of client information, including warnings, handoffs, and briefing notes
Develop, implement, and maintain complex data architectures, perform data transformation and migration
Lead problem management by assessing incidents, designing procedures, and developing/reviewing action plans/documentation
Participate in team's on-call rotation
Collaborate with team to make, manage, and meet client commitments
Prepare and review client status/incident reports, respond to requests/inquiries
Maintain alignment with client operating procedures, manage allotments, and alert Team Manager as needed
