  • Experience analyzing client infrastructure and processes to recommend best practices for enhancing operational procedures, ensuring maximum uptime and recoverability
  • Proficiency in administering backup procedures, disaster recovery plans, proactive monitoring, alert response, and troubleshooting operational problems
  • Skills in overseeing backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, and restoration of corrupted databases
  • Capability to develop and review action plans for maintenance, deployment, and upgrades, including completing client documentation and understanding client information (warnings, handoffs, briefing notes)
  • Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining complex data architectures (e.g., normalized/dimensional data models, DDL generation), performing data transformation and migration using scripts or stored procedures
  • Ability to lead problem management by assessing incidents for recurring patterns, designing technical procedures for requests/changes, and developing/reviewing action plans and documentation
  • Willingness to participate equally in the team’s on-call rotation (typically one weekend per month)
  • Strong client engagement skills, including making, managing, and meeting client commitments in collaboration with team members
  • Proficiency in preparing client status and incident reports, reviewing reports, responding to client requests/inquiries, maintaining alignment with client operating procedures (e.g., change control), and managing client allotments

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support for all database and application infrastructure aspects to a diverse client base
  • Deliver and consult on services, implementing improvements and optimizations for managed services customers

  • Analyze client infrastructure and processes, recommending best practices to enhance current operational procedures, ensuring maximum uptime and recoverability for all databases
  • Administer backup procedures and disaster recovery plans, including proactive monitoring to prevent issues, responding to alerts, and troubleshooting operational problems
  • Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication, failover, and the restoration of corrupted databases
  • Develop and review action plans for maintenance, deployment, and upgrades, ensuring all relevant client documentation is completed; maintain thorough understanding of client information, including warnings, handoffs, and briefing notes
