Requirements

  • Experience implementing highly available and scalable big data solutions
  • In depth knowledge of at least one cloud provider, preferably AWS
  • Proficiency in languages such as Scala, Python, or shell scripting, specifically in the context of streaming data workflows
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
  • Full understanding of modern software engineering best practices
  • Experience with Domain-driven design
  • DevOps mindset
  • You see the value in a team and enjoy working together with others, also with techniques like pair-programming
  • Either have an AWS certification or are willing to achieve AWS certification within 6 months (minimum: AWS Certified Associate)
  • Present onsite at the Antwerp office one day per week

Responsibilities

  • Building a robust real-time customer profile by aggregating their online behaviour and allowing the usage of this profile to recommend other articles on our online platforms
  • Co-develop and cooperate on streaming architectures from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement to meet the needs of millions of real-time interactions
  • Closely collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists and analysts in our daily work, data engineering guild and communities of practice
  • Harmonising our data landscape across countries, over departments and through acquisitions
  • Design and build cloud-based data pipelines, both batch and streaming, and its underlying infrastructure
