Expert & Leadership (9+ years)
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, epidemiology, engineering, information science, computer science, or equivalent technical experience. They should have hands-on experience writing Python code for machine learning, data science, engineering, and ETL pipelines, along with 5+ years of experience in data analysis software, preferably in data science. A minimum of 5 years of experience with GitHub/Git, Python, SQL, statistics, and ML modeling is required. The role also demands a proven track record of applying AI or ML models to solve practical, real-world problems, ideally in healthcare or similar complex domains. Knowledge of statistical concepts and data mining methods such as hypothesis testing, distribution analysis, Bayesian estimation, Linear and Logistic Regression, GLMs, text mining, and time series analysis is essential. Additionally, familiarity with various traditional machine learning techniques including feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, clustering, Decision Trees/Random Forests/Gradient Boosted Decision Trees, and Deep Learning is necessary. Experience with machine learning implementation strategies such as model evaluation in production, drift detection, feature stores, model registries, deploying models as REST APIs, and integrating models into production environments is also required.
The Senior Data Scientist will support Tendo analytics projects focused on quality management and risk adjustment by accessing and analyzing data from multiple sources to translate it into meaningful and actionable information for health systems. They will develop, maintain, and enhance predictive models to improve products in areas like quality, risk, and operational efficiency. The role involves asking novel, data-driven questions and driving new analyses, as well as exploring and experimenting with emerging AI technologies to solve healthcare problems and improve operational workflows. Responsibilities include developing analytic data sets, using statistical software for analysis, utilizing third-party software tools for queries and visualizations, and coordinating with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
Soft exoskeleton gloves for grip assistance
Tendo develops a soft exoskeleton in the form of a robotic glove that helps users grip and release objects more easily. This glove is designed for individuals who may need extra strength and dexterity, such as those with physical disabilities or older adults. It operates using intelligent sensors that provide artificial strength, allowing users to perform daily tasks with greater independence. Unlike other assistive devices, Tendo's glove focuses on enhancing the functionality of one or two fingers, making it lightweight and easy to wear. The company stands out by directly selling to consumers and partnering with healthcare providers, aiming to improve the quality of life for its users. Tendo's goal is to empower individuals by providing practical solutions that enhance their daily living.
