Requirements

  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 8+ years of commercial legal experience, preferably in the FinTech space
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including with payment networks, card issuers, acquirers/processors, and financial institutions
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements associated with payments and financial services
  • Strong interest in alternative payments, emerging payments technology, and the FinTech industry

Responsibilities

  • Align with eBay Payments’ business development, product, and engineering teams to understand eBay’s global payments architecture and business strategies
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex, multifaceted agreements relating to payments, e-commerce, and other financial services products
  • Drive continuous improvements, scalability, and operational excellence in the contract negotiation processes
  • Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts and ensure timely completion of contracts with acceptable deal parameters
  • Provide strategic legal and business advice to facilitate long-term relationships with key partners
  • Manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
