Requirements
- Highly skilled and experienced in Cloud Operations Engineering
- Expertise in AWS services such as Organizations, Control Tower, Landing Zone, IAM Identity Center, EC2, S3, RDS/Aurora, DocumentDB, FSx, EKS, AMI Factory, AWS Backup, Vaults, Transit Gateway, IPAM, and VPC
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CDK (preferred), CloudFormation, and Terraform
- Experience leading cloud migration initiatives from on-premises or other cloud environments to AWS
- Prior experience in an Enterprise SaaS environment, with emphasis on quality, high availability, and attention to detail
- Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
- Located in Colombia (fully remote position)
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure using AWS services, ensuring compliance with organizational policies
- Lead cloud migration initiatives, including detailed planning, execution, and post-migration support
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and Terraform for consistent, automated deployments
- Provision and manage cloud resources including compute (EC2), storage (S3), databases (RDS/Aurora, DocumentDB), filesystems (FSx), container orchestration (EKS), and machine images (AMI Factory)
- Define and enforce configuration management standards for consistency, reliability, and compliance
- Develop, maintain, and optimize automation scripts and tools to streamline operations and enhance reliability
- Establish observability best practices, including monitoring, logging, and alerting
- Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with teams to minimize downtime
- Design, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies to meet RTO and RPO using AWS Backup and Vaults
- Ensure cloud security and compliance through best practices, audits, and policy enforcement
- Monitor resource usage, analyze costs, and implement cost-optimization strategies
- Design and manage networking solutions using Transit Gateway, IPAM, and VPC
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategies with business goals and provide technical guidance
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support
- Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements
