Position Overview

Deel is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with at least 8 years of experience to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing our all-in-one payroll and HR platform, which is designed to unlock global opportunity for every person, team, and business. Our platform integrates HRIS, payroll, compliance, benefits, performance, and equipment management into a single, seamless experience, powered by AI and a fully owned payroll infrastructure. We support workers in over 150 countries, helping businesses scale smarter, faster, and more compliantly.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a Cross-Functional Team: Work closely with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA professionals to create seamless user experiences.
• Participate in Product Planning: Contribute your expertise from the discovery phase through to deployment, actively participating in all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Develop and Enhance Features: Collaborate to develop robust new features, APIs, and continuously improve our industry-leading products.
• Bug Resolution: Help find and fix bugs efficiently at "Deel Speed."
• Provide an Exceptional, Customer-Centric Experience: Ensure top-tier products and services through quality engineering and attentive, customer-focused development.

Requirements

• Expertise in Backend Development: Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript best practices, and experience in at least one other server-side language.
• Database Mastery: Proven expertise as a SQL guru, particularly with PostgreSQL, including query optimization, data migrations, and database modeling.
• Solid Grasp of OOP and Design Patterns: Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns, with experience in building and extending classes.
• Scalability Focus: Experience in designing systems for scalability, ensuring they can manage rapid growth and increasing demands efficiently.
• High-Volume Performance: Proven expertise in optimizing systems for large transaction volumes, handling concurrency, idempotency, and performance under load.
• API Development: Skilled in building APIs, including input validation, JWT tokens, and ensuring security & scalability through queue-based systems.
• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
