Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in primary research
  • Experience in market research methodologies and consumer insights (valuable, though primary focus is corporate reputation and public affairs research); political research background considered for transition
  • Experience executing every stage of a research project – both quantitative (e.g., surveys) and qualitative (e.g., focus groups, online discussion boards)
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with proven ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Ability to work efficiently and quickly produce high-quality work products
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Team player with ability to collaborate and maintain strong working relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and experience catching mistakes
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Experience/coursework with statistics and advanced quantitative methods (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Produce first draft analyses of research projects – both written analyses and visual PowerPoint presentations, with project lead guidance requiring minimal revisions
  • Begin to produce first drafts of survey questionnaires and qualitative research screeners and guides, with project lead guidance
  • Research and draft new business proposals and presentations, with senior-level support
  • Drive forward day-to-day project management of research projects and external clients in collaboration with colleagues, including keeping team on schedule, tracking tasks, developing agendas, and taking notes on calls
  • Work with project teams to ensure timely client responses, anticipate needs, and continuously update clients on activity and progress
  • Oversee sampling and fielding of studies to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Actively troubleshoot project fielding issues, identify/implement solutions, or escalate to team
  • Ensure high quality control of quantitative projects (e.g., monitor telephone polls, test survey links)
  • Ensure client deliverables are proofed, number-checked, and error-free
  • Begin to provide strategic recommendations and contribute to strategic thinking on projects
  • Moderate online discussion boards, as needed
  • May begin to learn skills of moderating qualitative assignments, starting with in-depth interviews
