Requirements

  • JD from ABA accredited law school and admitted to relevant state bar
  • 4-6 years full-time employment in top-tier law firm or in-house environment
  • Experience in all phases of litigation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and writing skills
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and strategic focus
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build strong working relationships at all levels of management and work on cross-functional teams
  • Able to perform both independently and in a team environment
  • Preferred: Experience with complex litigation, class actions, antitrust/competition law, IP litigation, and e-discovery

Responsibilities

  • Developing case strategy in partnership with business units and driving resolution of litigation disputes
  • Managing outside counsel
  • Reviewing and approving pleadings and motions, and attending court hearings and depositions
  • Coordinating discovery, including collection and production of materials
  • Providing legal advice to business functions on a wide variety of pre-litigation issues arising from business-as-usual activities
  • Keeping Visa management and business units apprised of litigation developments and strategy
