Requirements

  • Senior Android Engineer level experience, capable of consistently delivering high-quality, maintainable Android code that sets standards for scalability and accelerates product iterations
  • Ability to contribute effectively to technical initiatives, accountable for large team project features including those with external dependencies
  • Proficiency in designing code through technical conception before development, ensuring robust patterns like Kotlin Coroutines, thread safety, and race condition prevention
  • Curiosity and proactiveness in implementing new Kotlin and Android technologies, including Jetpack Compose (migration started in 2023), Kotlin flows, and latest Google I/O features
  • Expertise in building and scaling app architecture (e.g., MVVM-C or similar), advocating for multi-modules and dependency injection, applying SOLID principles, and emphasizing simplicity (KISS)
  • Experience in preventing regressions through Unit, Integration, UI testing, collaborating with QA and Android Engineers, and exploring E2E testing practices (native and third-party)
  • Strong skills in elevating Android app performance with monitoring practices (app launch, app size, memory usage, smoothness)
  • Passion for Kotlin, advanced UI with Jetpack Compose, or core architecture, with openness to new ideas and collaborative working style
  • Willingness to be based in Paris (3 days in office, 2 days remote)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Android core foundations, architecture, and infrastructure stack
  • Produce scalable libraries and frameworks
  • Elevate engineering excellence and share knowledge within the Android Community at Back Market
  • Participate in the mobile engineering chapter with iOS/Android engineers and technical leaders from other platforms (SRE, Backend, Frontend, CyberSec, Data)
  • Improve developer experience through shared architecture, UI components, and developer tools for consistent, maintainable code
  • Enhance app infrastructure: faster/more reliable CI/CD pipelines, easy release processes, better QoS monitoring, quality, and profiling
  • Collaborate with mobile engineers from product squads on technical and core projects
