Requirements

  • Ability to perform duties of assigned posts including walking/mobile patrols, stationary posts, one-to-one observer, traffic control, and special assignments
  • Capability to monitor doors, surveillance cameras, and alarms
  • Proficiency in utilizing Health System technology and systems for visitor control, data input/output, investigations, incident reports, shift logs, access control, infant protection, and securing sensitive areas
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with team members, OIC, supervisors, nursing staff, security teams, and law enforcement
  • Ability to provide directions, escorts, and assistance to visitors, vendors, patients, and staff
  • Skills to verify ID badges for staff and proper ID for public (visitors, vendors, contractors)
  • Competence in assessing and addressing minor maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing repairs, resetting breakers, replacing light bulbs) or notifying Plant Engineering
  • Ability to respond to emergencies (e.g., CODE GREY, CODE RED), hazardous/chemical spills, and serve as 1st level operations responder using special equipment
  • Availability for 2nd shift, per diem/part-time, on-site at Mount Holly

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard, patrol, and monitor buildings, grounds, and property to protect lives, prevent theft, fire, vandalism, and unauthorized entry while enforcing Virtua policies
  • Assist visitors, patients, vendors, and staff with excellent customer service, hospitality, information, and directions
  • Respond to all emergency situations
  • Monitor security & safety related computer systems if performing surveillance
  • Perform duties of all assigned posts including walking/mobile security rounds, stationary posts, one-to-one observer, traffic control, and special assignments
  • Monitor doors, surveillance cameras, and alarms
  • Use technology/systems for visitor control, data management, investigations, reports, logs, access control, infant protection, and sensitive areas
  • Communicate effectively with team, supervisors, nursing, security teams, and law enforcement
  • Escort visitors, vendors, patients, and staff as needed within facilities and parking lots
  • Provide written reports of security incidents and check/report malfunctions in security systems, lights, plumbing, heating
  • Verify staff ID badges and ensure public have proper ID bands/passes/badges
  • Assess and address minor maintenance issues or notify Plant Engineering
  • Respond to emergencies like CODE GREY, CODE RED, hazardous spills, and assist with special equipment
