Requirements

Pursuing or recently completed PhD degree in computer science or related discipline with a focus on security
Track record of innovative contributions and ideas in system security
Experience with innovative solution development, such as developing proofs-of-concepts and first-of-a-kind solutions
Good understanding of system security technologies and principles including attack and defense techniques
Good understanding of system and platform architectures including operating systems
Strong system development skills with experience in one or more of Python, Rust, C, Go
Good written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English
Background in computer system hardware, firmware or software security
Good understanding of the current state of the art, major trends and opportunities in security
Demonstrated track record in making things real in innovative ways

Responsibilities

Accelerate research on new services, core methodologies and technologies for IT system security
Provide thought leadership and technical influence both internally and externally to HPE
Take innovative ideas and make them real – contributing along the full range from initial novel ideas to design, development, implementation, evaluation, and technology transfer
Thrive in an applied research environment, balancing significant technical and scientific contributions with bringing such contributions to practice through innovative solutions that address the needs of customers and partners
Collaborate with HPE Labs colleagues, as well as with external partners and the open-source community
Research and develop foundational security capabilities for HPE products and services
Focus on new technologies for measuring and assuring the integrity of hardware, firmware and software
