Candidates should have over 7 years of hands-on red team experience or equivalent expertise, with deep knowledge of offensive security operations in modern technology companies. Proven experience in performing offensive security assessments in at least one hyperscaler cloud environment, preferably Azure, is required. Mastery in assessing complex technology stacks, including Kubernetes clusters, container environments, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub security, macOS and Linux operating systems, data science tooling, Python-based web services, and React-based frontend applications is essential. Exceptional skills in code review and identifying vulnerabilities, along with excellent coding abilities to create tools for offensive operations, are necessary. Candidates must also possess strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts effectively and demonstrate a track record of contributing to solutions in complex codebases. An active U.S. Government Security Clearance or willingness to obtain one is preferred, along with experience testing AI-driven systems and a background in AI or data science.
The Security Engineer will conduct open-scope red and purple team operations to simulate realistic attack scenarios and collaborate proactively with defensive security teams to enhance detection, response, and mitigation capabilities. They will perform comprehensive penetration testing on OpenAI's product suite and leverage advanced automation and technologies to optimize offensive security efforts. The role also involves presenting actionable findings clearly to inspire impactful change and influencing security strategy by providing attacker-driven insights into risk and threat modeling.
