Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering roles, with a focus on enterprise-grade solutions, is required. Industry certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, or Security+ are preferred. Experience managing infrastructure in cloud/hybrid environments, hands-on knowledge of Linux, and proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) or experience developing against REST APIs are necessary. Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication skills are also essential.
The Security Engineer, Observability will be responsible for building, maintaining, and operating scalable and resilient systems for security telemetry infrastructure, ensuring continuous visibility into security events. This includes creating, enhancing, and deploying data pipelines for SIEM integration, and planning, configuring, and troubleshooting security telemetry infrastructure. The role involves automating manual processes, monitoring and responding to incidents for timely remediation, and collaborating with multiple business units. Additionally, the engineer will mentor junior security engineers, create documentation of procedures and standards, assist with ad-hoc operational tasks, and stay current on security trends and best practices to evolve the company's security posture.
