Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Qualys Vulnerability Management (VMDR, Policy Compliance, Asset Management)
  • 5+ years of experience in vulnerability management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (15 years full-time education)
  • Strong understanding of CVSS scoring, remediation workflows, and patch management
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and container security
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira) and SIEM tools (QRadar, Splunk)
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and deep understanding of vulnerability lifecycle management

Responsibilities

  • Lead vulnerability scanning and assessment activities using Qualys VMDR, Policy Compliance, and Asset Management modules
  • Analyze scan results, prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk, and coordinate remediation with IT and application teams
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track vulnerability trends, remediation progress, and compliance metrics
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring vulnerabilities and recommend long-term fixes
  • Collaborate with SOC, GRC, and infrastructure teams to align vulnerability management with broader security initiatives
  • Ensure timely patching and configuration compliance across servers, endpoints, and cloud assets
  • Maintain asset tagging, scan schedules, and policy configurations in Qualys
  • Support audit and compliance requirements by providing evidence and documentation
  • Continuously improve scanning coverage, asset accuracy, and false positive tuning
  • Stay updated on emerging threats, CVEs, and vulnerability intelligence
  • Define the cloud security framework and architecture, ensuring it meets business requirements and performance goals
  • Document the implementation of cloud security controls and transition to cloud security-managed operations
