Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in life sciences or Master’s degree in Cell Biology/Biotechnology or a related Life Science field with 5-6 years of research experience
  • Solid foundation in Cell Biology, including fundamentals of cell biology, cell physiology, and tissue development
  • Experimental skills with attention to detail
  • Transfection and transduction experience
  • Strong understanding and hands-on expertise with the culture of multiple mammalian cell types
  • Experience in primary and/or stem cell work
  • Additional experience with protein biology, molecular biology, or other related subject areas (preferred)
  • Demonstrated skill in developing publication-quality documents, including experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, strong teammate, eager to learn new techniques and creatively solve problems
  • Capable of thinking, working independently, and carrying out experiments

Responsibilities

  • Perform cell culture activities and laboratory techniques including aseptic expansion of immortalized cell lines, handling of primary cells and immortal cells
  • Work with stem cells and perform different types of differentiations
  • Conduct transfections and transductions
  • Regular inspection of cell culture samples, including microscopy, gene expression assessment, Western blot/ELISA, and other applicable examinations
  • Initiate, plan, and complete scientific research with emphasis on cell culture techniques independently
  • Prepare customer-facing documents, including scientific writing and publication-quality images and figures
  • Retain comprehensive records of cell culture parameters and results in data sheets and/or electronic notebooks
  • Responsible for data integrity, accuracy, and analysis
  • Deliver high-quality results according to project schedules in support of current and/or new products
  • Collaborate within teams and guide junior scientists
