Requirements

  • Ability to work under limited supervision with much decision-making
  • Knowledge of shipping procedures to recommend economical methods
  • Skills in verifying shipments by comparing against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or records, including counting, weighing, and measuring items
  • Ability to maintain inventory records for incoming/outgoing shipments and shipping materials/supplies
  • Compliance with all safety policies, practices, and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Maintain day-to-day operations of the Sample Department
  • Assist in the production of marketing samples and prepare them for shipment
  • Keep records on all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Create and review pick lists for shipments
  • Ensure shipment accuracy by comparing products against bills of lading and verifying counts, weights, and measurements
  • Recommend the most economical method of shipping
  • Prepare shipments with proper labels
  • Replenish shipping materials and supplies as needed
  • Ensure samples are manufactured, inventoried, and shipped as scheduled
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons and post weights and shipping charges
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications
  • Report unsafe activities to supervisor and Human Resources
  • Assist in accomplishing company goals and help other employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department supervisor
