Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited civil engineering program
  • Passed FE/EI exam
  • 3+ years of relevant roadway design engineering experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Strong understanding of design principles and standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Prepare preliminary design plans, documents, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Conduct analyses and perform standard computations, drawings, and visual aids for projects
  • May coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or other staff
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct field inspections to gather relevant data and contribute to site assessments
  • Utilize design software and tools for drafting and modeling
  • Support the development of cost estimates for projects
  • Perform quality control self-checks of assigned work
  • Perform other duties as assigned
