Position Overview

Humana Healthy Horizons in Ohio is seeking a RN, Clinical Educator (Nursing Educator 2) to plan, direct, coordinate, evaluate, develop, and/or deliver trainings and education programs for professional nursing, social work, and nonclinical personnel. This role involves varied work assignments that frequently require interpretation and independent determination of appropriate courses of action. The RN, Clinical Educator will develop educational goals and plans for new associate orientation, ongoing training, and professional development through virtual and in-person instructor-led trainings. Training programs may encompass Care Management, Utilization Management, and/or Compliance throughout the Humana Healthy Horizons organization supporting Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Selects appropriate training materials.
  • Creates an environment conducive to learning and information exchange, engaging learners to produce desired outcomes.
  • Monitors training personnel records to ensure associates meet all company training requirements for company, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Analyzes course evaluations to judge the effectiveness of training sessions.
  • Develops new training based upon identified needs and implements suggestions for improvements.
  • Evaluates the relevance of online resources to complement facilitated experiences in the field, as appropriate.
  • Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
  • Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, requiring minimal direction and receiving guidance where needed.
  • Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Unrestricted RN license in the state of Ohio.
  • Previous work experience in CM, UM, or training and learning development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong presentation skills for virtual and in-person delivery.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience working with multiple layers of leadership within an organization.
  • This role is part of Humana’s Driver safety program and therefore requires a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN, Bachelors in Business, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in the development of educational materials.
  • 2 or more years of clinical training or learning development experience.
  • Understanding of curriculum design and adult learning principles.
  • Experience using a wide variety of training tools to effectively facilitate to a wide audience.
  • Experience managing projects or processes.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
